Overnight Programs
Eagles (5-6th grade) & Rangers (7-9th grade)
Eagles and Rangers can increase their experience at New Hope Camp & Conference Center and beyond with our resident specialty camps:
Overnight Camp — Eagles (rising 5th-6th graders) ($365)
Eagle campers can enjoy a week away from home at one of our overnight sessions! During Overnight Camp, campers will participate in normal Day-Camp sessions, but after the Potpourri campers leave, Eagles will participate in evening games, cook over the campfire (complete with S’mores!), sleep in cabins, and even spend one evening sleeping under the stars. These campers will fully enjoy the benefits gained spending a week in Christian community with their peers. Evening vespers, songs and devotions around the campfire are a part of each evening. This quiet time strengthens our campers’ faith and creates memorable camp experiences for campers and staff alike. When campers fully engage in the camp environment and daily distractions are removed, new friendships are built, new ideas are explored and campers emerge with a stronger sense of self.
Eagle Beginner Adventure Camp ($380)
Eagles can increase their adventure at New Hope Camp & Conference Center and beyond during Session 3 Adventure Camp. During this session, campers will go beyond Day-Camp and even Overnight Camp and experience an off-site overnight camping and canoe trip. During the first few days of the session, Eagles will work on their canoeing skills, tent and camp site setup and outdoor cooking skills. This year they will travel to Pittsboro, NC to try out their paddle skills on Lake Jordan, and perhaps even catch a glimpse of local Bald Eagles. Our Program Director, an avid camper and canoeist, will lead the campers as they canoe, setup camp, cook and spend the evening singing, worshipping and sleeping by the river.
Music, Art, Drama and Dance Overnight Camp — Eagles & Rangers ($380)
Campers can enjoy an arts adventure in our beautiful camp setting. This week of resident camp is an opportunity for young people to improve skills and experience the thrill of music, art, dance, and drama, as well as other great camp activities. Campers will be submerged in Theatre, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Hip-Hop, and Clogging, along with extra Arts classes ranging from mask making to painting and sculpture. Led by our guest Program Leader, Nancy Rivenbark, an award winning dance instructor, campers will be given a chance to stretch their minds and bodies throughout the week. Our overnight activities will also include a talent night, so bring that special talent to be shared with all. All of the courses will be divided according to experience. We will have classes for campers who are just beginning, those who are still learning, and those who have been involved in the arts for some time. We hope that you will come and enjoy camp with us whatever your prior arts experience is. We also hope that everyone can learn something new during our adventure into the arts!
Ranger Intermediate Adventure Camp ($380)
New Rangers can increase their adventure at New Hope Camp & Conference Center and beyond during Session 6 Adventure Camp. During this session, campers will go beyond Day-Camp and even Ranger Overnight Camp and experience an off-site overnight camping and canoe trip. During the first few days of the session, Rangers will work on their canoeing skills, tent and camp site setup and outdoor cooking skills. This year they will travel to Lillington, NC to paddle the Cape Fear River. Our Program Director, an avid camper and canoeist, will lead the campers as they canoe, setup camp, cook and spend the evening singing, worshipping and sleeping by the river.
Ranger Advanced Adventure Camp ($380)
Returning Rangers can try their hand at even more excitement during Session 7 Adventure Camp. During this session, campers will go beyond Ranger Adventure Camps of the past and experience a 2-night, off-site overnight camping and canoe trip. During the first few days of the session, Rangers will work on their canoeing skills, tent and camp site setup and outdoor cooking skills. This year they will travel to Morrow Mountain State Park to paddle a class 2 whitewater section of the Uwharrie River. Our Program Director, an avid camper and canoeist, will lead the campers as they canoe, setup camp, cook and spend the evening singing, worshipping and sleeping by the river.
Do you like staying up late and sleeping in? The unique schedule of this camp may be just what you are looking for. During Night Owl Camp, campers will experience all the fun of a traditional camping session in a whole new way. By staying up late and sleeping in each morning campers will be able to explore wonders of the natural world, its sights, creatures and sounds that often go unnoticed by day dwellers. Cookouts, sports, night hikes, evening paddles, swimming, stargazing and crafts will round out this special session. Christian Education will have a fresh feeling as campers learn more about themselves, Christ and each other through storytelling and discussion around campfires under the stars. It's a hoot!
